Jeroen Willemsen (1972) is known as Protein Commissioner of The Netherlands. As a scientist, entrepreneur and eco-system builder, he is successful in the alt protein domain for 25 years. Following his work at Wageningen-UR, Willemsen founded plant-meat frontrunner Ojah (2009). After leaving the company he initiated the Green Protein Alliance (2017), The Protein Community (2017), the Dutch National Protein Strategy (2020), the Bean Deal (2022) and Plant Protein Forward (2024). Currently, Willemsen is Lead Protein Transition at Foodvalley NL, a world-wide renowned impact-organization, shaping the food transition.
