Nina Pulkkis is a Finnish science journalist and television producer, specializing in biotechnology and the bioeconomy. Her career spans both media and science communication, focusing on making complex scientific topics accessible to wider audiences. She has produced, directed, and scripted numerous documentaries for Finnish national television, experience she now applies in science communication. In 2022, Pulkkis founded Synbio Powerlabs, where she serves as Head of Strategy and Communications. Synbio Powerlabs is currently building a pilot facility in Lappeenranta, Finland. The facility, featuring two 27m³ food-grade bioreactors, is designed to support research and innovation in food tech and biotech. Pulkkis’s work at Synbio Powerlabs reflects her commitment to promoting sustainable biotechnological solutions for global challenges.
