Paul Mauhin

Financier by training, innovation by heart and technology by passion, I am in charge of the new processing product development at Castle Ingredients, as well as the build of the ultimate portfolio of functional ingredients. Having advised multiple companies in the Deeptech sector, mainly space and biotech, I have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by R&D, for scaling, and formulators when looking for new and innovative ingredients. One of my last position was CEO of a company active in the probiotic sector, which aimed to find new and convincing microorganisms for multiple purpose. I have a deep understanding of the current state-of-the art and different technologies available to create new functional ingredients, ranging from fermentation to soft dry protein extraction, with or without extrusion, with different types of processing in between. I can also count on many discussions and close contacts with companies active in the food and cosmetics industry, able to gather valuable insights.
