John is the Programme Manager at the Alternative Proteins Association, one of the largest its kind in Europe, designed to promote the value of alternative proteins in the UK. The APA aims to tackle the challenges of food insecurity, climate change, and intensive farming by helping the UK become a world leader in alternative proteins and inspiring collective action. John was previously a Net Zero Energy Consultant Engineer at Arup & Partners delivering projects, working with stakeholders including energy and finance companies, local government, universities and the PM’s Business Council. He also brings experience working as a Policy Advisor at DEFRA, working on an iGEM synthetic biology research project and serving on the Gen Z Advisory Board at Aleph Farms. He holds a masters degree in Engineering from the University of Exeter and has a passion for alternative proteins, even founding his own alternative protein company during university!
