Marcelo graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Alfenas in 1989 in Brazil. He got his Ph.D. in Parasitology from McGill University in Canada in 2000. He is a research leader, working on epidemiology, molecular biology, and the development of new therapies to control animal diseases using nanotechnology, and active biometals. Prof. Molento is a supervisor for Master's and Ph.D. students at UFPR. He is a Full Professor and Coordinates the Laboratory of Veterinary Clinical Parasitology at the Federal University of Paraná. He loves to receive young minds for long discussions and reflections on global health issues like antimicrobial resistance and stewardship.
